Business Development Intern

These internships will run from mid-May to mid-August 2018, ending with our annual company trip. 

Spreetail's business development department is the connecting link from products to our customers. They work with suppliers to create a plan for purchasing products and while ensuring that all of our listings are active and optimized on all of our marketplaces. They're a vastly growing team, new products and brands are added every week to our product line.    

As a business development intern, you are gritty. You enjoy seeing your work and seeing the different milestones that are achieved due to your day-to-day projects. You enjoy challenging yourself and others and possess the ability to be detail-oriented at an efficient pace.  The analytical and communication skills you offer are hand-in-hand in noticing trends in data and correcting any issues you identify.  

Business development interns help other account managers with vendor development in different stages of the process. Starting with the introductory stage, you will be investing time in mainly vendor and product research, meeting with new vendors, creating purchase orders, learning about competitive pricing, and finally launching products onto marketplaces. You will assist in implementing and improving the process of launching new items to site, listing optimization, leading the efforts of new program rollouts across different marketplaces, such as Amazon, Walmart, and eBay.  You will use data and other analytics in order to properly analyze current sales and how to increase margin and revenue in strategic ways.  

You should have:  

  • Proficiency in excel  
  • Stamina and drive  
  • Desire to learn and creative problem-solving 
  • Curiosity about e-commerce and the business as a whole
